TEF Canada speaking — Section B
Section B is the longer oral task (~10 minutes): you see an ad, present it to a friend, and persuade them to take part. It carries more weight in the speaking module than Section A — this page is a focused drill on that skill.

Section B FAQ
- Can I read the document aloud?
- Skim for facts, then paraphrase. Reading the poster word-for-word sounds weak; examiners want reformulation and persuasion.
- What if my friend keeps saying no?
- That’s the point. Stay polite, add a new argument, and keep the conversation going until time ends.
